124 – Health Care

Welcome back to the Scale Your Small Business Podcast with your host, Jillian Flodstrom! Today, we’re talking about something that’s often overlooked, but still prevents many small business owners from taking the next step–it’s health care. Don’t worry! There are options that work for you.

Firstly, it’s important that you get a health insurance agent on your dream team. These people know what they’re doing and how to help you find the right plan for you, your family, and your business.

There are two types of health insurance: individual and group. For individual plans, you can purchase it on an individual marketplace and know immediately if you’re eligible for a subsidy. Believe it or not, getting a group plan is possible, even as a small business or even an individual. If you can prove you’re an employee of the corporation, you gain access to all the same larger, group providers that you would from another business.

When you’re looking for a plan, know that cheapest is not always the best. You will get what you pay for, so make sure you’re connected to your health care agent to be sure you’re on the right track. Experts in this field can help you take the leap. You could build a house yourself. But why would you want to do that?

Don’t let staying at your job prevent you from getting out there. There are ways to make it work.
